Daily Whale Report: September 18, 2026
Several tracked wallets converged on HYPE within the hour. Over the last 24 hours, the wallets we track on Hyperliquid moved $511.9M in trades of $50,000 or larger, and 37% of that went into tokenized-stock perps. That is about in line with the recent pace.
When the desks we follow move together like this, it is usually worth a closer look. Here is where the money actually went.
The tape
Start with the wider board the whales were trading into. Bitcoin rose 6% to around $80.9K, Ethereum rose 7% to around $2.6K, Solana rose 11% to around $113, and XYZ100 rose 1% to around $29.7K. As it stands now, funding on Bitcoin is positive, meaning longs are the side paying to hold.
The day in numbers
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Total tracked flow | $511.9M |
| Buy / Sell | 57% / 43% |
| Tokenized-stock share | 37% |
| Active markets | 32 |
| Busiest markets | BTC $144.5M, ETH $131.4M, XYZ100 $97.8M, SILVER $30.8M, SP500 $29.4M |
| Bitcoin | $80,930 close, — of tracked BTC positions long |
What stood out
A tracked wallet bought $4.0M of BTC, roughly 10.4x the size it usually trades in that market. That runs with the rest of the board, which is leaning the same way on BTC.
One of the wallets we watch bought $994K of SILVER, roughly 5.0x the size it usually trades in that market. SILVER was up 1% on the day, so the trade leaned into the move, in a market that now carries $162.7M of open interest.
A tracked wallet bought $1.0M of XYZ100, roughly 5.0x the size it usually trades in that market. A single entry that far outside a desk's normal range reads as conviction, not routine rebalancing.
One of the desks on our list, up 704% over the last 30 days and among the top 5% of the wallets we track bought $620K of HYPE, roughly 5.1x the size it usually trades in that market. It was already holding HYPE coming into the day, so this is a desk pressing a position it likes rather than opening a new one.
One of the wallets we watch sold $1.0M of BTC, roughly 4.6x the size it usually trades in that market. Either way, it stands out as one of the day's heavier commitments to a single market. It also lines up with BTC being the busiest market across every wallet we tracked today.
Separately, 3 different wallets we track bought HYPE inside a single hour, $2.4M between them. Independent desks arriving at the same trade in the same window is the kind of alignment that rarely happens by accident.
The tokenized-stock story
$188.7M of today's tracked flow, 37% of everything the wallets touched, went into tokenized-stock perps — leveraged, on-chain bets on names like the S&P 500 or a semiconductor index (how these work). The busiest were XYZ100 at $97.8M, SILVER at $30.8M, SP500 at $29.4M. That positioning tends to show up in public wallets before it shows up in the price, which is the whole reason to watch it.
For scale, the $97.8M the wallets put into XYZ100 went into a market that now carries $177.2M of open interest in total. On a venue this young, tracked desks are not a rounding error there — they are a visible share of who is in the trade.
One wallet to watch
One desk did more of the heavy lifting than any other. One of the desks on our list moved $9.5M today, working across BTC.
As of now it is holding a $51.2M short in ETH, a $43.0M short in BTC, a $24.0M short in ZEC. Those are live, and you can watch them change in real time.
Worth flagging: that short in ETH runs against the rest of the book, which is sitting net long on the same name. The most active desk on the day is leaning against the crowd.
The standout performer
One of the desks on our list came into the day with one of the stronger recent records on our list: up 395% over the past week on a 73% win rate, and 813% over the past month. Today it stayed busy in ETH, BNB, BTC, and NEAR. Right now it is holding a $1.7M long in BTC and a $1.3M long in ETH, live and moving in real time. A run like that is the reason to watch a wallet before it acts, not after — the record is public, and so is the next trade.
What we are watching next
One thing stands out heading into tomorrow. Tracked wallets are sitting on a combined $115.7M net long in HYPE, the clearest positioning lean on the board right now. Where the biggest desks are already leaning is the thread worth pulling into tomorrow.
The takeaway
The point of reading on-chain is simple. The trades are public, the wallets are public, and the positioning shows up before the story does. You can follow the same flow as it updates on the Mirror-X scanner. The same markets these wallets trade are live on the Mirror-X terminal.
